About road racing
In a ‘bunch’ race, about 50 riders will race in close proximity. It is not a sportive, mass ride or social ride. Participants are trying to win! You can expect surges of speed due to ‘attacks’ when riders will try to get away from the bunch but sometimes things go slow when nobody is willing to use energy on the front. Tactically, you can take a gamble and try to get away in the hope that nobody is willing to use energy to chase you... or you can be one of those trying to save energy to be the best in the sprint to the finish.
In Qatar, road racing is fast and thrilling but it is not suitable for those with no experience of riding close to others. You can gain that experience by joining groups such as Qatar Chain Reaction, Qatar Cyclists, Pinoy Roadies etc.
