In a time trial, otherwise known as 'The Race of Truth', you are not allowed to ride with, behind or to the side of any other rider, making it fitness and pacing which count, not tactics and sprinting. The event is suitable for all fit cyclists, even those without experience of riding in a group. Bicycles with aerobars (tribars) are allowed for this event.

- There are no toilets or changing facilities at the venue.

Course
The course is an out and back route along the Olympic Cycling Track with a dead turn after 15km. Total distance 28km.
START: Adjacent to OCT parking at the Lusail Sports Complex.
TURN: at 14km the OCT becomes wider at the connection to the Tinbek on ramp to the Al Khor highway. This will facilitate making the U-turn. If practicing on the course, the position of the turn is here.
It will be lit by a vehicle and a marshal will give you warning of the approaching turn using a whistle. The use of a front and rear lights is strongly recommended to be visible to marshals and competitors. Be sure to turn around at the coned turn point.
Marshals will check your bib number which must be placed on yuor back at the bottom of your shirt in order for it to be visible. An incorrectly placed number may result in no result or disqualification.
FINISH: The finish is on the north side of the underpass shortly before the return to the start point. Be sure to decelerate quickly after crossing the finish line in order to not be a hazard to other riders and spectators.

Youth & Junior Categories
There is a single youth category for Under 16s. The distance will be 14 kilometers with the turn at the Umm Gurn water station.
- This event is not recommended for riders under twelve years. Parents and guardians should consider whether their child is capable of the distance
- First start will be at 20:30
- Youth participants must use a bike without aerobars
Rules & Drafting
- This is a non drafting race.
This means you will be penalised or disqualified if you attempt to gain advantage by riding in the slipstream of another rider.
Leave a 12 meter gap between you and the rider ahead unless over taking. If overtaking the pass must be completed within 25 seconds or you must drop back 12 meters. When over taken you must drop back 12 meters.
Draft marshals will be located on the course. - Non-elite competitors may ride any UCI or ITU legal bicycle. Elite competitors' bicycles must be UCI compliant. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the UCI requirements are met. If in doubt, go to the start early to get yuor bike checked.
- Prizes for 'road bike' competitors are awarded to those without aerobars or disk wheels.
- The UCI event is organised accourding to UCI rules.

Notices
- The OCT will be closed between the start and turn point from 20:00pm onwards. The main entry points will be marshaled but we cannot guarantee that the track will be completely clear of the general public. Be vigilant.
- Do not warm up on the course. You may ride south from the start point before your start.
- Be careful at the dead-turn. Watch your speed and check behind before turning.
